Hi. I'm trying to find out what the name "Chernobyl" means, what it
translates to. Can you give me a word or name in English?
Thank you so much.

| Accessibility of buildings in the Zone (General) |

I've read lots of conflicting information on how accessible various parts of the zone is. It is allowed to enter buildings in the zone or not? Also, would it be extremely complicated to get to the more obscure places - I'm in particular thinking about Yanov railway station, the Jupiter factory and reactor 5, 6 and other parts of the NPP itself that isn't overly irradiated.
If one was to undertake such an expedition, what kind of personal protection equipment would be required? Gas masks, respirators, dosimeters and geiger counters? - or is that unnecessary?
Please forgive the excessive amount of potentially stupid questions :) |

| I'd like to get in touch with Chernobyl Interinform, but I can't seem to find their website or e-mail address. Am I just being ignorant (wouldn't be the first time!) or is there no way of contacting them directly except for by phone? I'll of course call if necessary, but I'd rather avoid the costs of international calls. |
