In April - May, 2006, www.chernobyl.info presents  Windows on Chernobyl and Interviews on Chernobyl.  In the Chernobyl windows children and adults from Belarus, Russia and Ukraine are reporting the news directly from the Chernobyl region. For the Interviews on Chernobyl www.chernobyl.info interviewed people living in Chernobyl area or working in this sphere in order to learn how they experience the disaster's consequences in their daily life.  Their answers to 5 questions are presented in the Interviews on Chernobyl.

On the occasion of the 20th Anniversary of Chernobyl disaster, people whose lives were affected by the Chernobyl disaster were asked, how they cope with its consequences in their everyday life.

Window on Bragin
Bragin district is located in close vicinity to the place of the accident at the Chernobyl power plant. As a result of the accident over 2/3 of the district arable land became unsuitable for farm management. Nevertheless, people still live here. The district totals 136 settlements with about 18 thousand inhabitants. These people face the future full of hope and work to make their land prosperous. Sixteen secondary schools, two music schools, eight rural recreation centers, fifteen clubs, twenty six libraries and a picture gallery work for the welfare of the people.

Window on Novozybkov
So many small towns in the world, calm, inconspicuous, marked by indistinctness. They seem to differ from the other only if something really significant happens there. Our native Novozybkov is one of these original noticeable towns. The striking beauty of nature and goodness of the people living here will make the gloomiest one smile. But that’s not the only peculiarity of the town. Novozybkov has been in the limelight since the Chernobyl disaster – the accident at the nuclear power plant.

Window on Dobrush
Dobrush is a small town in the southeast of Belarus. It was first mentioned in chronicles in 1560. Due to its geographic position, the intersection of major east-to-west and north-to-south transportation routes, Dobrush has a huge potential regarding its economic development. The biggest industrial enterprise of the town is Dobrush paper mill. Another important facility, Dobrush porcelain works founded in 1980, is known far beyond our republic.
